In April 2020, I was a student in Melbourne, stranded and anxious as the COVID-19 pandemic closed borders around the world. I never imagined I’d be away from home for so long — until the Brunei Embassy and Royal Brunei Airlines arranged a special rescue flight.
I remember the call clearly — the relief, the emotion, the overwhelming gratitude. After a five-hour wait at the airport, I finally boarded the aircraft. There were only five of us onboard, and the silence was surreal. But I felt safe, seen, and cared for in that quiet.
The RB crew was professional, calm, and kind—even in those uncertain times. They made what could have been a stressful journey feel like a gentle return home.
Thank you, Royal Brunei, for going above and beyond when it mattered most. That flight wasn’t just a way home — it was a lifeline.

Flying with Royal Brunei Airlines has never been just about getting from A to B — it’s been part of my life’s journey.
From my childhood days watching Mr Bean on the overhead projector and secretly tucking Muhibbah magazines into my bag to flying Business Class alone as a boy visiting my father in Sabah, RB has been there—always warm and always kind.
As an adult, I’ve flown for work, for family, for love — our honeymoon, our baby’s first flight, and even Umrah in 2024. Each flight held a special memory, whether it was the orange juice before take-off, the comforting meals, or the familiar smile of a cabin crew member.
RB has helped me through milestones, big and small. It’s more than an airline—it’s part of my story.
Thank you, Royal Brunei, for flying with me through it all.
By Arabella’s Parents
When our daughter Arabella was just two months old, she was diagnosed with a serious heart condition, and our world came to a standstill. She urgently needed life-saving cardiac surgery in Kuala Lumpur—a daunting journey for any parent to face.
Thanks to the compassion and swift action of Datin Paduka Dr Lim Meng Keang and the Pediatric Team at RIPAS Hospital, along with the generous funding from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Arabella’s treatment became possible.
Royal Brunei Airlines graciously sponsored the return airfares for Arabella, her nurse, and me. From check-in to arrival, we were treated with warmth, care, and respect—RB ensured we felt supported during one of the most challenging times in our lives.
We are overjoyed to share that Arabella’s surgery was a success. She is now well, recovering beautifully, and bringing joy to everyone around her.
That journey was more than just a flight—it was a lifeline. Thank you to everyone who helped carry our daughter safely to healing and hope.

On 3 December 2023, just as my family was preparing to return home from Japan, my son injured his ankle at the hotel and could no longer walk.
When we reached Narita Airport, I requested a wheelchair, and from that moment, Royal Brunei Airlines took care of us with such compassion. The staff ensured we were the first to board, assisted my son down the aisle, and made sure he was comfortable throughout the flight.
Upon arrival in Brunei, RB staff were already waiting at the aircraft door with a wheelchair, helping us all the way to our car.
Thank you, RB, for your kindness and care. In moments like these, you truly showed why we trust you with every family journey.

Flying for the first time can be overwhelming, especially for children with autism. However, our family’s experience with Royal Brunei Airlines was smooth, comfortable, and truly memorable.
We chose Royal Brunei for its direct flights, which helped minimise transitions and reduce stress. Travelling during off-peak hours also made a significant difference by offering a quieter, less crowded cabin that helped ease sensory overload.
Thank you, Royal Brunei, for creating an environment where our child felt safe, supported, and at ease. It meant the world to us.

Leaving for the UK to pursue my studies was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done — especially as a mother. I left two young children behind, hoping this journey would one day inspire them.
The days were long, filled with lectures and assignments, but my heart remained in Brunei. The highlight of every chapter abroad was the flight home — and with Royal Brunei Airlines, it always felt like more than just a journey.
I’ll never forget one flight soon after the MH17 tragedy. I was nervous, my hands trembling as I fastened my seatbelt. A kind RB steward noticed and gently reassured me, and the crew’s warmth and care made all the difference throughout the flight.
Landing in Brunei and seeing my children’s faces light up — that’s a moment I’ll always cherish.
Thank you, RB, for bridging dreams and home and reminding me that kindness in the sky can carry you further than you imagine.

In 2012, my husband and I took our first flight with Royal Brunei Airlines, travelling to Dubai to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. He casually posted about our trip on Facebook, and somehow, the magic of RB found us.
At the check-in counter, the Duty Manager approached us with a smile, wished us a happy anniversary, and offered complimentary access to the lounge. We were amazed, but the surprises didn’t stop there.
When it was time to board, RB swapped our boarding passes and upgraded us to Business Class! Once onboard, the captain made a special announcement, wishing us a happy anniversary. Shortly after, the cabin crew brought out a cake, which we joyfully shared with everyone on the flight. It was such a personal and thoughtful gesture from RB — we were truly touched.
That flight was not just a journey but a celebration in the sky. Thank you, Royal Brunei, for making our 10th anniversary unforgettable — we even have the photos to prove it!

For 25 years, I had not travelled overseas — the thought of flying made me anxious. However, in 2023, with a bit of encouragement from a dear friend, I finally booked a trip to Brunei, a place I had long dreamed of visiting.
When we stepped onboard Royal Brunei Airlines, my fears melted away. The crew made us feel safe, welcome, and genuinely cared for. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We flew Economy on the way there and Business Class on the return; both experiences were exceptional.
Brunei truly lived up to its name, the “Abode of Peace,” and our guide, Anwar, helped make every day special. I left with a whole heart and many beautiful memories.
The experience was so meaningful that I returned in 2024 with my husband and son to celebrate my 50th birthday — a milestone made even more unforgettable thanks to the warmth and care of Royal Brunei. Thank you, RB, for helping me rediscover travel’s joy and being such a significant part of this new chapter in my life.

My fondest memory of Royal Brunei Airlines comes from traveling almost every fortnight between Brunei and Singapore in 2023 and 2024. As a Gold member, every journey felt seamless—from priority check-in with warm, welcoming staff to relaxing in the RB lounges at both Brunei International Airport (BIA) and Changi Airport. Onboard, I enjoyed complimentary preferred seating, early meal service, and RB’s signature hospitality.
Each flight was not just a means of transportation but a consistently exceptional experience. Thank you, RB, for making every mile feel special.

I still remember my first trip with Royal Brunei Airlines as a teenager in 2003—the thrill of flying, the nervousness during takeoff, and the calming recitations that comforted me. That trust has remained with me ever since.
RB has been my constant companion, from travelling solo to flying as a mother. When I flew alone with my 2-year-old daughter, the crew went above and beyond, surprising her with gifts to keep her entertained throughout the journey.
On our 9-hour Umrah flight to Jeddah, the crew checked on us with genuine care. During my birthday trip to Kuala Lumpur, I was delighted to receive a surprise cake onboard—and yes, it was delicious!
Royal Brunei Airlines has consistently provided comfort, kindness, and reliability. Thank you, RB, for being a part of every chapter of my journey.

At the end of 2023, I took my first solo trip — a quiet act of courage — flying with Royal Brunei Airlines to Kuala Lumpur. I didn’t know exactly what I was searching for, only that I needed to go.
As the world drifted by outside the window, fear and excitement swirled within me. But when I boarded, RB’s caring crew reminded me I wasn’t alone.
On New Year’s Eve, standing in the heart of KL as fireworks lit up the sky, I felt something shift — a moment of clarity, strength, and quiet pride. I had made it.
Thank you, Royal Brunei, for carrying me to a new city and a new chapter of self-belief and discovery.

My first time flying with Royal Brunei Airlines was in 2011 — 16 hours to the UK to study abroad. I held back tears at the farewell gate, only to cry my eyes out once I was on board.
But one journey stands out. On a return flight to the UK, I unknowingly skipped the boarding queue and went straight into the aircraft, sat down, buckled up — and waited. The crew smiled but said nothing until the headcount didn’t add up. A crew member
finally tapped my shoulder, laughing, “Ahh, no wonder the numbers were off — this lady masuk awal!”
No scolding, just kindness and a good-natured laugh. Since then, I’ve never boarded early again — and I’ve flown RB countless times with nothing but love for their warmth, humour, and heart.
I miss flying with RBA, and I can’t wait to come back on board again soon.

One journey with Royal Brunei Airlines will always stay with me — 21 December 2012, the day my twin brother and I, both 16, flew unaccompanied to the UK for the first time. While the world joked about “doomsday,” we were living our adventure — nervous, excited, and in the safest hands possible.
RB’s staff treated us with extraordinary care from the airport to the skies. With our ‘Unaccompanied Minor’ tags proudly on display, the RB staff crew guided us every step of the way. The crew checked on us constantly, offering warmth, reassurance, and extra helpings of kindness.
We even got a surprise seat upgrade before landing in London — a small gesture that felt incredibly special. On our return, we rang in 2013 mid-flight, welcomed by a joyful “Happy New Year” over the intercom and a round of applause from the cabin.
Royal Brunei didn’t just take us across continents — they made us feel at home in the sky.
Happy 50th Anniversary, RB. Thank you for the memories.

In 2023, I boarded my very first Royal Brunei Airlines flight beyond Borneo — a spontaneous trip to Singapore with my cousin for a one-week course. We booked just three days before departure, and though it was last-minute, the memories were priceless.
What made the journey even more special was the return flight — piloted by a woman. Her landing at Brunei International Airport was so smooth, I was in awe. I even managed to snap a photo with her!
Thank you, Royal Brunei, for making my dream to travel abroad a reality — and for a journey I’ll never forget.
Happy 50th Anniversary!

On December 25th, my family and I flew with Royal Brunei Airlines to Melbourne on a journey that meant the world to us. My mum lost contact with her father at a young age after being adopted by her grandparents. He was originally from Australia but had never been part of her life.
Over a decade ago, I began searching for him. Although I discovered that he had sadly passed away, I also found out that he had children from a second marriage. We reconnected with one of my uncles who visited us in the UK but had yet to meet the others.
After learning that one of their wives—my aunt—had passed away from cancer, we realized it was time to meet the rest of our family. We travelled to Australia to connect with them and to see where my grandfather once lived.
This trip was incredibly emotional and special, filled with connections, stories, and healing. Royal Brunei made the experience even more memorable with their warm service and seamless travel, reminding us of the comfort of home.
Thank you, Royal Brunei, for being a part of a journey we will always treasure.

This year, I finally checked Brunei off my travel list, and what better way to do it than with a nine-day birthday trip! It was also my first time flying with Royal Brunei Airlines. From the warm welcome onboard to the gracious service, it was an unforgettable start to my journey.
The evenings during Ramadhan were magical. I enjoyed Iftar outdoors with friends and family, participated in “healing” activities in parks, and shared delicious food and laughter. On my birthday, March 11, I spent a wonderful day by the pool at The Empire, feeling completely at peace.
Every moment was special, from exploring Kampong Ayer to adventuring in Ulu Temburong. We truly relaxed while discovering the heart of Brunei.
I wish I could return for Eid, National Day, or His Majesty’s Birthday—I’ve heard these celebrations are not to be missed. Thank you, Royal Brunei Airlines, for the journey of a lifetime.
